1. Ease of Setup and Use
Setting up the Skytrak+ is a simple process. The unit comes with a small pouch, cables, and a helpful Quick Start Guide. It does not have a built in display to tell you if anything is wrong, which can annoying during initial setup.
Some users have needed to call customer support for help with the initial setup. Skytrak customer support has been excellent and helpful with any problems that arise, especially during setup.
You will need to connect your Skytrak+ to an iPad or PC to get everything going. The wireless connection seems to work well and remain stable even during long sessions.
The initial setup can be tricky, but the Skytrak+ is easy to use after that initial headache. It’s fun, intuitive, and provides great entertainment.
2. Accuracy
The dual doppler radar combined with the photometric camera provides very accurate data. There is always a mishit here or there, but overall the Skytrak+ has impressive accuracy.
Skytrak has put in the effort to make their product accurate. They have done robot testing to verify their measured results are indistinguishable from other leading launch monitors. They have clearly put in the time and effort to make the Skytrak+ as accurate as possible.
3. Compatibility
Can every type of golfer use the Skytrak+? Yes, yes they can. There is no required skill level to use this launch monitor. It can be fun for the novice or for the expert, no matter your swing.
You don’t need a special golf ball, special hitting surface, or any proprietary material. It’s as simple as it gets.
Skytrak+, like other camera-based launch monitors, is difficult when both right-handed and left-handed players want to play together. It can become almost impossible when you are switching the launch monitor from one side to the other.

5. Real-Time Feedback
My one gripe about the Skytrak+ is the delay. There seems to always be a few second delay between the ball strike and the display on screen. Other launch monitors have figured it out, so why hasn’t Skytrak?
It’s a minor gripe, given the cost of the Skytrak+. But I still wish it wasn’t there.
6. Portability
It is kind of bulky. It’s not a launch monitor that you want to throw in a backpack and take to the range all the time. But you could if you wanted to.
It claims to have a 4.5 hour battery life, which is more than enough for a range session. It performs well outdoors too, thanks to the dual doppler system. The only problem is you need to bring your iPad to view your data.
I would choose a different launch monitor if portability is a concern. But the Skytrak+ is great for the occasional trip to the range.
7. Software and Apps
The Skytrak software is beautiful. The graphics are great, it’s simple, and you can explore the wealth of features it has to offer.
It has three options: Practice, Challenge, and Game Improvement. If you don’t pay for the subscription, you will only have access to the Practice portion. This is fine if you are only using it as a practice aid. The subscription price is $249.95 annually for the Challenge and Game Improvement portions.

8. Unique Features
The software is the most unique part of the Skytrak+. It is beautiful and easy to use.
My favorite feature of the Skytrak+ is that you don’t need stickers on your golf balls. You don’t need to put your ball precisely on the red laser dot. You don’t need to be as precise as other launch monitors for it to capture your shot.
Modern launch monitors are getting more and more accurate, so accuracy won’t be a unique feature of any launch monitor. But the Skytrak+ is definitely accurate.
9. Durability
I wish launch monitors didn’t come with a plastic case. Why??? They are in an environment where they could be struck by a golf ball. They do sell a separate protective case, though.

The Skytrak+ retails for $2,995. You can often find sales, coupons, or used units to bring that price down.

The Skytrak+ is priced fairly. The only other competitors in the price range are the Bushnell Launch Pro and Flightscope Mevo+, but they both require hefty subscriptions.

The Skytrak+ is an incredible golf experience. If you are just looking for practice, it is the best launch monitor out there. The software if user friendly, clean, and beautiful. The launch monitor is easy to use after initial setup and rarely misses a shot.
You won’t regret purchasing a Skytrak+ launch monitor. Especially if you are just getting into indoor golf.
