Bushnell Launch Pro Review: The Best Accuracy under $5000

The Bushnell Launch Pro is the exact same product as the Foresight GC3.

Bushnell acquired Foresight Sports in 2021 and launched the Bushnell Launch Pro a short time later. It’s no surprise it is the exact same product as the Foresight GC3. The only difference is the price.

Foresight GC3 comes in at $5,999 while the Bushnell Launch Pro starts at $1,999. Crazy difference, right?

You’ll quickly see that it’s not the crazy deal it seems to be. (Spoiler it’s subscriptions)

Bushnell Launch Pro Overview

The Bushnell Launch Pro uses 3 photometric cameras to track your club and ball data. This is different than other launch monitors in this price range, such as the Mevo+ and Skytrak+. If you are curious about how different launch monitors work, check out our article here.

Using 3 cameras instead of doppler radar has one major advantage: you don’t need much space. You place the Bushnell Launch Pro right in front of you. It has a simple display on top where you can view the data.

The Bushnell Launch Pro is a professional grade launch monitor for the average consumer. I can’t imagine the average golfer would be dissatisfied with the quality and price. But there are a few catches that we’ll cover below.

Review Categories

We try to offer unbiased and objective reviews of each launch monitor. None of them are perfect for every scenario or golfer, so we review each launch monitor based on the same 10 categories:

  1. Ease of Setup and Use
  2. Accuracy
  3. Compatibility
  4. Data Analysis
  5. Real-Time Feedback
  6. Portability
  7. Software and Apps
  8. Unique Features
  9. Durability
  10. Value

1. Ease of Setup and Use

I get tired of setting up new equipment, so and easy setup is something I rave about.

The Bushnell Launch Pro comes with helpful Quick Start Instructions that almost oversimplify the process. The QR code helps you register the device and create an account, but fails to help you really connect the device to the app.

Good news is Foresight has good customer support, so don’t fear any issues that arise.

The Foresight app is fairly intuitive. It will tell you all about your launch monitor, what subscription you have, and how to unlock all the features. We’ll talk about that more below.

Once the setup was complete and everything connected, the Bushnell Launch Pro worked flawlessly.

2. Accuracy

The Launch Pro is shockingly accurate. It rarely misses a ball. Count me as impressed.

You can tell they took the time to test, test, and retest this device to get the most accurate data possible. I don’t think I ever looked at the data and thought: “that can’t be right”. I’ve thought that at times with most other launch monitors.

3. Compatibility

The Bushnell Launch Pro is built for every type of golfer. It tracks any type of swing.

You don’t need a special golf ball, ball stickers, or anything unusual. It is really easy to use for all skill levels.

If you want club data, you do need to put a little stick on your clubs. But that’s it.

Side of the Launch Pro

The Launch Pro, like other camera-based launch monitors, is difficult when both right-handed and left-handed players want to play together. It can become almost impossible when you are switching the launch monitor from one side to the other.

If you are playing with right-handed and left handed players, something like the Apogee or ProteeVX is a better option.

4. Data Analysis and Feedback

The Bushnell Launch Pro can provide all the data below. It depends on which version you purchase. The “Ball Data” version or the “Ball and Club Data” version.

Bushnell decided to sell two different units that provide different data. Don’t ask me why, but they did.

Here are is all the data the Bushnell Launch Pro can provide:

Ball Data Only

  • Carry Distance
  • Ball Speed
  • Total Spin
  • Horizontal Launch Angle
  • Vertical Launch Angle
  • Back Spin
  • Side Spin
  • Spin Tilt Axis
  • Barometer

Ball and Club Data

  • Carry Distance
  • Ball Speed
  • Total Spin
  • Horizontal Launch Angle
  • Vertical Launch Angle
  • Back Spin
  • Side Spin
  • Spin Tilt Axis
  • Barometer
  • Clubhead Speed
  • Club Path
  • Angle of Attack
  • Smash Factor

The Launch Pro falls a short on the number of metrics it records. The Mevo+ and Skytrak+ offer a more detailed analysis and actionable feedback to help improve your game.

But the Launch Pro does a sufficient job. It has all the features you need and eliminates some of the unhelpful ones.

5. Real-Time Feedback

The Bushnell Launch Pro is fast. There is almost no delay between the strike and the data display. It’s great for the impatient golfer.

It translates quickly to the software you are using, especially the FSX software.

6. Portability

This thing is bulky. It has 3 cameras and a display, so it’s not a huge surprise.

It’s portable enough to take to the range, but I wouldn’t do it all the time. It is a better fit for an indoor setup.

7. Software and Apps

The software and apps feel lacking. And they cost a lot. It really takes away from the affordability of the Bushnell Launch Pro.

If you are using it as a golf simulator, you have to pay $500 per year for the Foresight Sports Gold package. Ouch.

And if you want to use third party software, you have to purchase the Gold Package. So if you want GSPro, you will be paying $750 per year in subscriptions, plus the cost of any courses.

Simulator Play using the Launch Pro

It is not compatible with E6 Connect either.

The real limitation for the Bushnell Launch Pro is the software and subscriptions. They seem a little out of hand.

If you are exclusively using the Foresight software, then it is still a good option.

8. Unique Features

The small space requirement is the best feature of the Launch Pro. You don’t need much space to make it work, and that is great for users who have limited space.

If you have trouble with the limitations of a radar launch monitor, the Bushnell Launch Pro is the best choice.

9. Durability

I wish all launch monitors came with a protective case, but they don’t.

The Launch Pro is solid and well made, but it still won’t survive a direct blow from a golf club or ball.

I would strongly suggest buying a protective case to protect your investment from an errant strike.

The unit comes with a one year warranty.

10. Value

Bushnell Launch Pro retails for $1,999 for the Ball Data model and $3,499 for the Club and Ball Data model. You can often find sales, coupons, or used units to bring that price down significantly.

The initial cost of the Launch Pro is lower than other models, but the subscriptions can make the ongoing costs feel unaffordable.

When buying a launch monitor, always consider the annual subscriptions to unlock all the features.

The Bushnell Launch Pro is priced very competitively for the quality and accuracy it offers. The only other competitors in the price range are the Skytrak+ and Flightscope Mevo+.

The Verdict

The Bushnell Launch Pro is an incredible launch monitor, especially for the value-conscious golfer. If you are just looking for practice with the Ball Data model, it is the best launch monitor out available. The software isn’t the cleanest, but it is adequate.

The biggest flaw of the Bushnell Launch Pro is all the subscriptions to unlock features. If you are okay with the subscriptions, this is the perfect option for you.
